Authenticated sandbox escape via Git URL resolution
Published Sep 16, 2026 · Updated Sep 21, 2026
Path traversal in n8n before 1.123.76, 2.37.7, and 2.38.2 allows remote authenticated users to read restricted Git repositories. The Git node checks a relative remote URL from repositoryPath, but git walks to the enclosing repository root and resolves that URL from a different base. A member who nests the working repository can make the check and git resolve one string to different locations; fetch or pull then exposes repository objects outside the configured sandbox.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
