Local kernel crash via unchecked RXE indexes
Published Sep 17, 2026 · Updated Sep 18, 2026
Out-of-bounds read in Linux kernel RXE allows local users to crash affected systems through a malformed user work queue entry. rxe_post_send skips validation for user queue pairs, so copy_data indexes wqe->dma.sge using attacker-controlled num_sge or cur_sge values. Access to an RXE user queue pair is required; an out-of-range index can trigger a kernel oops or panic and interrupt the host.
