Kernel warnings via incorrect spin-lock offset check
Published Sep 17, 2026 · Updated Sep 17, 2026
Incorrect offset validation in Linux 6.15 BPF allows local users to trigger kernel warnings via spin-lock type metadata. In kernel/bpf/btf.c, btf_parse_fields checks spin_lock_off instead of res_spin_lock_off in the BPF_RES_SPIN_LOCK warning condition. Amazon's assessment requires high local privileges; the warning becomes a kernel crash when the non-default panic_on_warn setting is enabled.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
