Kernel memory disclosure via leftover ODVP sysfs files
Published Sep 17, 2026 · Updated Sep 18, 2026
Use-after-free in Linux 5.8 and later allows local users to disclose or corrupt kernel memory by reading leftover ODVP sysfs files. The int3400 probe unwind leaves ODVP files and storage referencing freed private data when a failure occurs after evaluate_odvp(), while cleanup_odvp() also retains dangling cached pointers. Exploitation requires a rare INT3400 probe-resource failure that attackers cannot force; subsequent ODVP access can disclose or overwrite kernel memory, double-free storage, or panic the host.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
