Denial of service via task-work callback ABI mismatch
Published Sep 17, 2026 · Updated Sep 17, 2026
DoS in Linux 6.18 BPF task work allows local users to trigger a kCFI failure through a scheduled BPF subprogram callback. In kernel/bpf/helpers.c, bpf_task_work_callback invokes the program-supplied callback through a three-argument pointer instead of the five-argument bpf_callback_t ABI. Triggering requires privileged BPF access and kCFI enforcement; the published evidence does not establish a uniform crash or reboot outcome.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
