Heap over-read via truncated Content-Range header
Published Sep 16, 2026 · Updated Sep 22, 2026
Out-of-bounds read in GPAC 26.08-DEV allows attackers to read past a heap allocation through a truncated Content-Range header. wait_for_header_and_parse advances from the duplicated value's terminator because strchr treats NUL as a match in its separator string, reading one byte beyond the six-byte allocation. The GPAC client must fetch a URL returning the malformed HTTP response; the public reproducer demonstrates AddressSanitizer detection, not code execution.
