Open redirect via unchecked state destination
Published Oct 17, 2026 · Updated Oct 17, 2026
Open redirect in Patreon WordPress before 1.10.0 allows remote attackers to send visitors to external sites via crafted links. Patreon_Routing::handle_authorization_flow decodes the state parameter and copies final_redirect_uri into wp_redirect calls without validating its destination. Exploitation requires a visitor to follow the crafted link but no attacker account; the established consequence is external redirection useful for phishing, not server compromise.
