CVE-2026-92413Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Application crash via unchecked null stream

Published Sep 16, 2026 · Updated Sep 18, 2026

NULL pointer dereference in MuPDF at commit b6d17493700c621c0e70036980a6ebd06d2202c9 allows remote attackers to crash applications via a crafted PDF. pdf_open_filter returns NULL for an external xref stream without an archive, and its caller passes that value to fz_is_eof without checking it. A victim or automated workflow must open the file; the demonstrated consequence is process termination before page rendering.
