Code execution via stale HTTP/2 upload handle
Published Oct 14, 2026 · Updated Oct 14, 2026
Use-after-free in The Curl Project curl 8.22.0 HTTP/2 uploads allows remote attackers to execute code via crafted server responses. Stream-reset handling leaves a dangling Curl_easy pointer that multi-handle cleanup uses after freeing, allowing received data to overwrite a function pointer. Exploitation requires an upload to a malicious server with a valid certificate and precise allocation conditions; crashes are the more likely outcome.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
