SYSTEM escalation via installer rollback file race
Published Sep 29, 2026 · Updated Sep 29, 2026
A TOCTOU race in the Windows installer rollback of TeamViewer Full Client and Host before 15.82 allows local users to gain SYSTEM access. Rollback backup files reside in a user-writable temporary directory, where an attacker can replace them before the elevated installer restores them. Exploitation requires low-privileged local access, a rollback during installation or update, and successful timing of the replacement.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
