Client denial of service via unbounded SSE buffering
Published Sep 16, 2026 · Updated Sep 16, 2026
Uncontrolled resource consumption in the Go SSE client in AG-UI 1.0 allows remote attackers to exhaust client memory via a crafted stream. The readStream method appends every SSE data line to an unbounded bytes.Buffer and resets it only after an empty delimiter line. Exploitation requires the client to connect to an attacker-controlled or compromised SSE endpoint, where sustained input exhausts memory and interrupts the process.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
