Authenticated file overwrite via external-feed path traversal
Published Sep 16, 2026 · Updated Sep 16, 2026
Path traversal in affected Octopus Server versions allows remote authenticated users to overwrite arbitrary server files through an external feed. The non-built-in external-feed modification flow fails to constrain a supplied path to its intended directory, permitting writes outside that boundary. The attacker needs permission to modify non-built-in external feeds; overwritten executable or configuration files yield code execution in some configurations.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
