Script execution via unescaped module list values
Published Sep 29, 2026 · Updated Sep 29, 2026
Cross-site scripting in Joomla! CMS 4.0.0 through 5.4.8 and 6.0.0 through 6.1.3 allows remote authenticated users to inject script into module lists. The module list layout renders user-supplied values without proper output escaping, allowing crafted content to execute in a viewer's browser. The published attack conditions require high-privilege access and a viewer interaction; the advisory does not identify the editable field or the viewer's role.
