Cross-site scripting via unescaped link toolbar input
Published Sep 29, 2026 · Updated Sep 29, 2026
Cross-site scripting in Joomla! CMS 4.0.0 through 5.4.8 and 6.0.0 through 6.1.3 allows attackers to run script via a rendered link toolbar. The core link toolbar layout renders inputs without proper escaping, allowing markup in those inputs to become active browser content. A crafted value must reach that layout and be viewed; Joomla has not specified the controllable fields, required privileges, or whether the toolbar is publicly reachable.
