Unauthorized workflow-stage changes via insufficient ACL checks
Published Sep 29, 2026 · Updated Sep 29, 2026
Incorrect access control in Joomla! CMS 5.0.0 through 5.4.8 and 6.0.0 through 6.1.3 lets attackers change protected content stages. The core workflow-stage change operation performs an insufficient access check before updating the stage of content inaccessible to the requester. Exploitation requires a request context able to invoke a stage change; the vendor does not specify the endpoint or required privilege level.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
