Authenticated PHP inclusion via unchecked theme key
Published Oct 2, 2026 · Updated Oct 2, 2026
Local file inclusion in SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle 1.73.2 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to include PHP through widget previews. The widget preview endpoint accepts a legacy top-level theme key that update_fields() leaves unchecked because it validates only declared form fields. Contributor-level access and a reachable PHP file are required; inclusion executes that file in the WordPress server context.
