Crash via unchecked file-packet type assertion
Published Oct 14, 2026 · Updated Oct 14, 2026
A reachable assertion in F Prime FileUplink before 4.2.0 allows remote attackers to crash the Ref application via crafted TCP packets. Header::fromSerialBuffer casts an untrusted byte to Type without validation, and FilePacket::fromSerialBuffer asserts on unknown values instead of rejecting them. The default Ref file-uplink route requires no authentication; exploitation requires a correctly framed file packet reaching that route.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
