Crash via undersized-packet assertion
Published Oct 14, 2026 · Updated Oct 14, 2026
Reachable assertion in F Prime before 4.2.0 allows remote attackers to crash CCSDS flight software via small telecommand frames. Svc::Ccsds::SpacePacketDeframer::dataIn_handler uses FW_ASSERT instead of rejecting buffers of six bytes or fewer after TcDeframer strips the header and trailer. Exploitation requires access to a CCSDS uplink deployment; the default Ref application uses a different deframer.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
