Process crash via malformed-buffer assertions
Published Oct 14, 2026 · Updated Oct 14, 2026
Assertion DoS in F Prime before 4.2.0 allows remote attackers to crash GenericHub via malformed inter-processor hub traffic. The fromBufferDriver_handler receive path asserts on untrusted deserialization results and message types, and subtracts command-context size without checking for underflow. Exploitation requires access to an unauthenticated hub channel in a deployment that includes GenericHub; the default Ref application excludes this component.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
