Authenticated code execution via unguarded JMX lifecycle
Published Sep 29, 2026 · Updated Sep 29, 2026
Authorization bypass in Apache Karaf before 4.4.12 allows remote authenticated users to execute code through the JMX connector. MBeanInvocationHandler omits createMBean, registerMBean, and unregisterMBean from its guarded operations, forwarding them without a role check. On default installations, even viewer-role users can create an MLet MBean and invoke getMBeansFromURL under the get* ACL rule, loading attacker-supplied classes into the Karaf JVM.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
