Unintended attribute writes via unchecked REST parameters
Published Oct 12, 2026 · Updated Oct 12, 2026
Mass assignment in Apache Allura 1.21.0 and earlier allows attackers to set unintended blog attributes via REST requests. The blog RootRestController.index handler forwards extra POST parameters to BlogPost.new, which applies each supplied key with setattr instead of restricting model attributes. Blog write permission is required, granted to project Developers by default; the established consequence is unintended blog-object writes, not demonstrated server code execution.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
