Mutation XSS via namespace-blind raw-text serialization
Published Sep 25, 2026 · Updated Sep 25, 2026
Mutation XSS in Dashbit LazyHTML 0.1.0 through 0.1.12 allows remote attackers to execute JavaScript via crafted foreign-content HTML. LazyHTML.to_html/2 and LazyHTML.Tree.to_html/2 select raw-text handling by tag name alone, so decoded SVG or MathML style or script text is emitted unescaped and becomes live markup when reparsed. Exposure requires an application to parse attacker-controlled HTML, filter its tree, serialize it for display, and have a user render the result; the script then runs in that application's browser origin.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
