Client memory retention via delayed HTTP/2 frame rejection
Published Sep 28, 2026 · Updated Sep 28, 2026
Resource exhaustion in Elixir Mint before 1.11.0 allows remote attackers controlling an HTTP/2 server to retain up to 16 MiB per connection. Mint.HTTP2.Frame.decode_next/2 waits for the declared payload before comparing its length with max_frame_size, while the connection buffers incomplete data. Exploitation requires a client connection to an attacker-controlled HTTP/2 server; retained data is capped by the 24-bit frame length and requires the server to send equivalent bytes.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
