Unauthenticated alias squatting via unchecked queryId
Published Sep 19, 2026 · Updated Sep 19, 2026
Improper access control in WPGraphQL Smart Cache before 2.3.2 allows remote attackers to register arbitrary persisted queries. The request handler saves a caller-supplied query and queryId before authorization or validation, letting the identifier become an alias. No authentication or user interaction is required; an attacker can preempt aliases expected by the site frontend and alter persisted-query behavior.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
