Account takeover via discarded password verification
Published Sep 15, 2026 · Updated Sep 15, 2026
Authentication bypass in pig-mesh Pig before 4.1.0 allows remote attackers to overwrite any account password through /register/password. The endpoint invokes current-password verification but discards its result before saving the attacker-supplied replacement password for the submitted username. Network reachability of the endpoint is sufficient; changing the administrator password grants full administrative control and locks the legitimate account out.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
