Virtual-host spoofing via unfiltered git URL path
Published Sep 15, 2026 · Updated Sep 15, 2026
Injection in GitoxideLabs gitoxide gix-transport before 0.59.2 allows context-dependent attackers to spoof git-daemon virtual hosts. The message::connect serializer writes a percent-decoded git URL path into a NUL-delimited request without rejecting NUL, CR, or LF bytes. Exploitation requires a crafted git URL to reach the client through a malicious submodule, path composition, or interception, enabling repository misrouting or request and log newline injection.
