CVE-2026-91968Network attack vectorHinoki check available

API process termination via unbounded filter recursion

Published Sep 15, 2026 · Updated Sep 15, 2026

Resource exhaustion in Vikunja before 2.6.0 allows remote authenticated users to terminate the API process through task filters. The task-filter endpoint recursively processes each nested parenthesized filter expression without enforcing a depth limit, so a crafted query can exhaust process memory. A valid account and network access to the endpoint are required; successful exploitation crashes the API and interrupts task-management service.
