Improper privilege management in Progress MarkLogic Server before 11.3.6 and 12.0.3 allows remote authenticated users to gain elevated privileges. Progress has not disclosed the specific Hadoop integration locus or the incorrect authorization operation that permits the escalation. A low-privileged Hadoop role is required, after which privileged operations against the Security database become available.
