CVE-2026-91837Hinoki check available

Root command execution via nameserver shell metacharacters

Published Sep 25, 2026 · Updated Sep 25, 2026

OS command injection in GNOME NetworkManager-iodine allows local users to execute arbitrary commands as root via a crafted VPN profile. The plugin passes a nameserver value containing shell metacharacters into iodine's pre-drop privileged shell without neutralizing the metacharacters. Any unprivileged local user who loads a malicious VPN configuration can gain root privileges when the installed plugin establishes the connection.
