Code execution via JPEG2000 heap overwrite
Published Sep 23, 2026 · Updated Sep 23, 2026
Out-of-bounds write in affected Foxit PDF Reader and PDF Editor releases allows attackers to execute code through a crafted PDF. The JPEG2000 decoder insufficiently validates image metadata before writing decoded data to a heap buffer, allowing a malformed image to write past its bounds. Exploitation requires a user to open the crafted document; affected Windows releases include Reader 2026.2 and earlier and Editor 13.2.6, 14.0.7, and 2026.2 and earlier.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
