Code execution via malformed Circle annotation geometry
Published Sep 23, 2026 · Updated Sep 23, 2026
Heap-based out-of-bounds write in Foxit PDF Reader and PDF Editor 2026.2 and earlier allows attackers to execute code via a crafted PDF. The Circle-annotation renderer insufficiently validates Cloudy appearance-stream geometry before writing into a heap buffer, permitting memory corruption. Exploitation requires a Windows user to open the malicious document; successful handling can execute attacker-controlled code or crash the application.
