Code execution via WebP bitmap stride confusion
Published Sep 23, 2026 · Updated Sep 23, 2026
Out-of-bounds write in Foxit PDF Reader and Editor 2026.2 and earlier allows attackers to execute code via a crafted WebP image. The WebP decoder mishandles bitmap stride and target buffer formats, causing decoded pixels to be written beyond a heap buffer. Exploitation requires a user to open crafted content and then executes attacker-controlled code or crashes the application in that user's context.
