Arbitrary code execution via traversal attachment filenames
Published Sep 23, 2026 · Updated Sep 23, 2026
Path traversal in Foxit PDF Reader and PDF Editor for Windows allows attackers to execute code through a crafted PDF portfolio. The portfolio handler directly concatenates an attachment filename from a Filespec entry without sanitizing directory-traversal segments. A user must open the document; Reader 2026.2 and earlier and Editor 13.2.6, 14.0.7, and 2026.2 and earlier can write attacker-controlled files outside the secure area.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
