Admin code execution via unsandboxed mail templates
Published Jul 29, 2026 · Updated Jul 29, 2026
Server-side template injection in Axway SecureTransport before 5.5-20260528 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary server code. The mail-template uploader passes administrator-supplied XHTML to Apache Velocity without sandboxing, allowing expressions to reach Java classes and Runtime.exec. Administrative access and a notification that renders the uploaded template are required; successful execution grants control of the host.
