Unauthenticated shortcode execution via unchecked REST content
Published Sep 18, 2026 · Updated Sep 18, 2026
Missing authorization in Elegant Themes Divi 5.11.1 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute registered shortcodes via a REST request. The Shortcode Module REST endpoint accepts an attacker-controlled content value and passes it to WordPress do_shortcode without validating authorization. No account is required; enabling Force Enable D4 Shortcode Framework exposes the contact-form shortcode, allowing email to an attacker-selected recipient with attacker-controlled content.
