Service interruption via crafted network messages
Published May 27, 2026 · Updated May 27, 2026
Resource exhaustion in Tanium Server allows remote attackers to interrupt service by sending crafted messages over the network. Tanium states that the messages exhaust server file descriptors and memory but does not identify the responsible handler or erroneous operation. Network reachability is required; Tanium has not resolved conflicting statements about authentication or identified the resulting failure mode.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=7.6.4.0 <7.6.4.2190
- Affected versionversion=7.7.3.0 <7.7.3.8274
