Data alteration via unchecked size conversion
Published Jun 19, 2026 · Updated Jun 19, 2026
Incorrect numeric conversion in NI gRPC Device Server 2.17.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to alter data through oversized size values. CodeGen converts a size value to a narrower target numeric type without checking its range, silently discarding high-order bits; the same component is included in affected InstrumentStudio releases. Exploitation requires a crafted value exceeding the target type's range, and the disclosed consequence is silent truncation and resulting data alteration.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
