Local code execution via unquoted tool paths
Published Jul 14, 2026 · Updated Jul 14, 2026
Unquoted search paths in affected Studio 5000 Logix Designer releases allow local users to execute code through External Tools. The External Tools configuration file leaves executable paths containing spaces unquoted, so Windows can select an attacker-planted executable earlier in the path. Exploitation requires local low-privileged access and active use of the configured tool, and the planted code runs with the application's user permissions.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=V35.00, 34.00-34.02, 33.00-33.02, 32.00-32.04 and older
