Sandboxed code execution via DOM use-after-free
Published May 20, 2026 · Updated May 20, 2026
Use-after-free in Google Chrome's DOM before 148.0.7778.179 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via a crafted HTML page. Google identifies freed-memory reuse in the DOM component, but the restricted issue does not disclose the affected object, code path, or lifetime error. A user must load the crafted page; successful execution remains inside Chrome's sandbox, with no published sandbox escape.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
