Host code execution via unchecked tar paths
Published Sep 14, 2026 · Updated Sep 14, 2026
Path traversal in DevSpace 6.3.21 and earlier allows attackers controlling a synced container to write files on the developer workstation. Unarchiver.untarNext joins an unvalidated tar entry name to destPath, allowing parent-directory segments to escape before os.Create writes the file. Reaching the flaw requires control of an in-pod sync stream; overwritten shell or SSH files can execute code with the developer's privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
