Code execution via XR use after free
Published May 20, 2026 · Updated May 20, 2026
Use after free in XR in Google Chrome before 148.0.7778.179 on Windows allows remote attackers to execute code via a crafted HTML page. Chrome's restricted bug record does not disclose which XR object is freed prematurely or what later operation reuses its storage. Exploitation requires a Windows user to open or visit attacker-controlled HTML, after which code executes with the browser process's privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
