IP restriction bypass via unchecked API tokens
Published Sep 21, 2026 · Updated Sep 21, 2026
Incorrect authorization in Warpgate 0.23.0 through 0.27.2 allows remote authenticated users to bypass API token IP restrictions. ConfigProvider::validate_api_token resolves a token by secret and expiry, and its HTTP caller creates RequestAuthorization::UserToken without checking the owner's allowed_ip_ranges against the trusted client address. Exploitation requires a valid token for an IP-restricted user and permits API access from a prohibited network location; deployments without those restrictions and non-HTTP-token paths are unaffected.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
