Heap corruption via unchecked compressed-frame copy
Published Oct 2, 2026 · Updated Oct 2, 2026
Heap buffer overflow in Apache Thrift C++ before 0.25.0 allows remote attackers to corrupt heap memory via outgoing ZLIB frames. THeaderTransport::transform() copies the compressed frame from its transform buffer into the write buffer without checking whether it fits after compression enlarges the data. Exposure requires an application to enable the ZLIB write transform and send attacker-influenced, poorly compressible content; the resulting overwrite corrupts process memory.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
