Stored XSS via unescaped chart tooltip labels
Published Sep 22, 2026 · Updated Sep 22, 2026
Stored XSS in Home Assistant Core before 2026.7.0 allows attackers to execute script in a viewer's browser via a crafted entity name. The Statistics Graph card passes the computed entity label into param.seriesName and interpolates it into ECharts tooltip HTML without escaping. Execution requires a default Line chart with an affected field and a viewer hovering over a data point; the script runs in that viewer's Home Assistant origin.
