Subscriber-level content overwrite via unchecked AJAX action
Published Oct 3, 2026 · Updated Oct 3, 2026
Authorization bypass in AltText.ai Alt Text AI 1.10.41 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to overwrite any post or page via AJAX. The atai_enrich_post_content action rewrites post_content with text influenced by attacker-controlled keywords without verifying that the caller can edit the selected post. Subscriber access suffices because the required nonce appears on subscriber-accessible admin pages; the resulting changes can manipulate site content and consume the site's paid API credits.
