Teacher-level staff password reset via unchecked staff_id
Published Oct 5, 2026 · Updated Oct 5, 2026
Improper authorization in openSIS Classic 9.3 allows remote authenticated users with teacher access to reset another staff account's password. The School Information update path accepts a caller-supplied staff_id to select the staff record whose password it changes, without restricting that selection to the caller's account. A teacher session is required; the unauthorized reset can disrupt access to the selected staff account.
