Unauthenticated stored XSS via exposed REST API key
Published Jun 13, 2026 · Updated Jun 13, 2026
Stored cross-site scripting in GPTranslate 2.31 and earlier allows remote attackers to inject scripts through the translation REST API. The request endpoint stores translation payloads without sufficient input sanitization or output escaping, while every page exposes the SHA-256 site-URL API key as gptApiKey. No authentication is required: a visitor can recover the key, submit a malicious translation, and cause the script to run when an injected page is viewed.
