Authenticated code execution via unguarded JDBC commands
Published Sep 29, 2026 · Updated Sep 29, 2026
Missing authorization in Apache Karaf before 4.4.12 allows remote authenticated users to execute code through the jdbc:ds-create shell command. SecuredSessionFactoryImpl allows commands without a matching ACL, while jdbc:ds-create stores an unchecked JDBC URL that pax-jdbc-config turns into a live data source. A viewer-role shell session is sufficient when an installed JDBC driver executes code from connection URL parameters; the missing ACL also exposes jms commands.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

CVSS describes severity. EPSS estimates exploitation probability.
Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
Activity data is delayed. The latest report is Sep 28, 2026.
