Supply-chain compromise via telemetry prompt injection
Published Sep 16, 2026 · Updated Sep 18, 2026
Prompt injection in Sentry Seer allows remote attackers to steer automated fixes through fabricated public-DSN telemetry events. The telemetry path accepts attacker-supplied error text as issue context, which Seer can interpret as instructions during automated analysis and fixing. A public DSN and enabled automation expose the path; observed prompts sought credential-stealing npm package installation, but Sentry disputes that the incident is a vulnerability.
