Subscriber-level disclosure via unenforced REST capability checks
Published Sep 30, 2026 · Updated Sep 30, 2026
Incorrect authorization in Elementor Image Optimization before 1.7.7 allows remote authenticated users to read protected media metadata. Several read REST routes do not enforce their intended capability checks before returning attachment metadata and site-wide statistics. A subscriber-level WordPress account can reach those routes; the reported consequence is disclosure, not modification of media or site settings.
